Hare Krishna. My name is Sonia Sardana and my family, and I were introduced to ISKCON in 1991 through a family friend. As a teenager I had the opportunity to take Sunday School and Bhakti Shastri as a high school/college student. Born and raised in Houston, the ISKCON of Houston temple is very special as the community of devotees helped raise me into the adult I am today. In addition to teaching your child in Sunday School, some of the other services that I participate in is festival decorations, deity garlands as necessary, Sunday Feast Cooking as needed and our annual community Thanksgiving Feast. Currently, I am also a member of our Temple’s Child Protective team as child safety is very important to me. I look forward to working with our Gopal Class students and to help introduce them to Krishna with enthusiasm and lots of fun!

Sonia , Gopal Class Teacher

I am Yamuna Sundari Dasi. Me and my family were introduced to Krishna consciousness in 2018. I am grateful for our association with ISKCON and devotees, it has profoundly transformed our lives, providing us with immense strength and clarity. I have completed my master’s degree in computer science and am working as an IT professional for an oil and gas firm.
I am very excited about serving and teaching children about Krishna consciousness. Early exposure to spirituality is invaluable for their holistic development. I aim to help them cultivate faith and spiritual values while they have fun along the way.

Yamuna Sundari Mataji, Madhava Class Teacher

Hare Krishna! My name is Atula Radha DD. I was introduced to Krishna consciousness by my parents when I was a baby. Since then, I’ve been involved in services, such as Gita camp and recording the Maharaj’s classes. I love teaching Sunday School. I’m currently a Junior in college, studying Business.

Atula Radha Devi, Madhava Class Teacher

Hare Krishna, I’m Samant Kumar Panchal, and I bring over 20 years of experience in the IT industry, having worked with leading companies like IBM and Capgemini. Currently, I serve as a Portfolio Manager at Capgemini. Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of speaking at various prestigious project management conferences, symposia, and universities. I have also won several industry awards in the fields of project management and technology, recognizing my contributions to the industry. Additionally, I serve as a mentor on adplist.org and have had the honor of being a judge at numerous science fairs, hackathons, and competitions.

In 2012, I was introduced to ISKCON and Krishna Consciousness, which has profoundly influenced my personal and spiritual journey. Since then, I have diligently studied the Srimad Bhagavatam and Bhagavad Gita. I have also heard spiritual discourses from very elevated and pure devotees, which have further deepened my understanding and devotion. I have conducted several classes on Krishna Consciousness for kids, youth, and working professionals, sharing spiritual wisdom and fostering personal growth. I am also actively involved in various temple services, continuing to grow spiritually and contribute to the community. I look forward to connecting and collaborating with like-minded professionals and spiritual seekers!

Samant Prabhu, Damodar Class Teacher

This is Manuj Kapur. I am a practicing eye surgeon and feel blessed for the opportunity to restore eyesight. I have been with ISKCON for over 30 + years and love to serve our temple community. I am also a Bhakti Shastri student as well as a Sunday School teacher. And, truly value the opportunity to learn from these young minds, and serve as an instrument in their spiritual journey.

Manuj Prabhu, Madan Mohan Class Teacher

I have been associated with ISKCON of Houston since 2011, and living in the Houston area as an oil and gas industry professional since 2009. I have completed the Bhakti-shastri course and also received the ISKCON Teachers certification. I have been teaching Sunday school since 2021. This is a service I particularly enjoy because preparing for the classes requires me to continuously read and hear about Krishna, His pastimes, and His devotees. Also, it is very satisfying to share with children the basic philosophy and stories from the scriptures, and discuss how to apply the principles in day-to-day life. I am very grateful to all the parents for giving me an opportunity to contribute to their child’s spiritual journey.

Amala Naam Prabhu, Parthasarathi (Boys) Class Teacher

Hare Krishna, I am Roshni. I grew up with devotee parents studying the Gita, Srimad Bhagavatam, and other devotional literatures. Now I enjoy serving through teaching the spiritual philosophy and making garlands for our temple deities.

Roshni Mataji, Parthasarathi (Girls) Class Teacher

Harilila Prabhu is a disciple of H. H. Tamal Krishna Goswami. He has served the Iskcon Houston temple since 1988. He is currently retired and spends time for teaching Sanskrit to Sunday school students and conducting several virtual classes teaching Bhagavad Gita and Srimad Bhagavatam to adults & children.

Harilila Prabhu, Sanskrit Class Teacher

My name is Renuka, and I was introduced to ISKCON in 2010 when we were looking for a Sunday school for our son, who was then 4 years old. I am currently a staff scientist at Baylor College of Medicine. I enjoy interacting with young children and love helping them learn and nurture Krishna Consciousness in their tender hearts.
I have a deep passion for the ancient language of Sanskrit, which we regard as the mother of all languages. I teach children the basics of Sanskrit, helping them read and write simple sentences, as well as chant the Bhagavad Gita and bhajans with correct pronunciation.

Renuka Mataji, Sanskrit Class Teacher

Hare Krishna! I am Sukha-Sagari, and I’ve been practicing Krishna Consciousness for over two decades. I deeply appreciate Srila Prabhupada’s classes and lectures, where his teachings are grounded in Sruti pramana and often supported by verses. Listening to his classes is one of the best ways to learn slokas, and I’m passionate about helping both children and adults develop a love for Sanskrit slokas. Additionally, as a trained vocalist, I’m eager to serve the devotees by nurturing their appreciation for Vaishnava bhajans, which embody the essence of our philosophy.

Sukh Sagari Mataji, Shloka Class Teacher

Hare Krishna, this is Ruchiranana. I was introduced to the Iskcon 20 years back by one of our friends in Auburn, AL. It was not very hard to adapt Krishna Consciousness as our family was very inclined toward Sri Vrindavan Dham, but we got grounded in philosophy through Srila Prabhupada’s books and devotees’ association. After moving to Houston in 2008, we started attending Bhakti Vriksha and at the same time I enrolled our son Arya in the Sunday school.
Thereafter, we were engaged in various kinds of services such as cooking, book distribution, henna, pujari room services, organizing the outreach programs etc. This brought us closer to our beloved Lordship Sri Sri Radha Nila Madhava. After few years, we started coordinating Bhakti Vriksha programs in Katy.
In 2017, I started the kid’s sloka classes at my home, which gave me an opportunity to interact with the kids and introduce them to Krishna Consciousness and our scriptures. I completed my Bhakti Shastri Diploma in 2020 and got the opportunity to serve as Sunday School Principal in 2022. This is a very special service where we are all helping kids to develop the devotional foundation. Apart from serving at Sunday School, I also love cooking and try to utilize that skill by preparing the feast on Sunday and other festivals for the pleasure of the Lordships and the devotees.
Srila Prabhupada always stressed the importance of giving Krishna Consciousness to the kids at a very early stage. So, I believe that doing this service pleases Srila Prabhupada a lot. I am very grateful to our Sunday School team who are dedicating their precious time to enthusiastically serve Srila Prabhupada.
