Sonia Sardana

Gopal Class Teacher

Sonia Sardana was introduced to ISKCON Houston in 1991 and has been an active community member for over three decades. Having completed the Bhakti Shastri course, she serves the temple through festival decorations, deity garlands, and Sunday Feast preparations. Professionally dedicated to child welfare, Sonia is also a member of the Temple’s Child Protective team. She is committed to introducing the Gopal Class students to Krishna consciousness through an engaging and enthusiastic curriculum.

Yamuna Sundari Devi Dasi

Madhava Class Teacher

Yamuna Sundari Devi Dasi joined the movement in 2018 and credits the association of devotees with providing her family immense spiritual clarity. She holds a Master’s degree in Computer Science and currently works as an IT professional within the oil and gas sector. Yamuna believes that early spiritual exposure is essential for holistic development. In the Madhava class, she aims to help students cultivate foundational faith and spiritual values within a supportive learning environment.

Atula Radha Devi Dasi

Madhava Class Teacher

Atula Radha Devi Dasi has been a practitioner of Krishna consciousness since childhood. Her extensive service record includes contributions to Gita camps and the archival recording of senior Vaishnava classes. Currently a university junior pursuing a degree in Business, she brings a youthful and disciplined perspective to the classroom. Atula Radha is dedicated to fostering a love for devotional service among the students of the Madhava class.

Samant Kumar Panchal

Damodar Class Teacher

Samant Kumar Panchal is a Portfolio Manager at Capgemini with over 20 years of experience in the IT industry. Since beginning his spiritual journey in 2012, he has focused on the study of the Srimad Bhagavatam and Bhagavad Gita. A seasoned speaker and mentor, Samant has conducted numerous classes for youth and working professionals. He looks forward to sharing spiritual wisdom and fostering personal growth among the students of the Damodar class.

Manuj Kapur

Madan Mohan Class Teacher

Dr. Manuj Kapur is a practicing ophthalmologist who has been associated with ISKCON for over 30 years. In addition to his professional medical practice, he is a dedicated Bhakti Shastri student and an experienced Sunday School teacher. Dr. Kapur values the opportunity to serve the temple community and views his role as an educator as a means of being an instrument in the spiritual development of the next generation.

Amala Naam Das

Parthasarathi (Boys) Class Teacher

Amala Naam Das has been a member of ISKCON Houston since 2011 and works professionally in the oil and gas industry. He holds a Bhakti Shastri diploma and an ISKCON Teacher certification. Having taught Sunday School since 2021, he emphasizes the importance of continuous hearing and chanting. His curriculum focuses on scriptural philosophy and the practical application of Krishna conscious principles in the daily lives of his students.

Roshni

Parthasarathi (Girls) Class Teacher

Roshni was raised in a household centered on the study of the Bhagavad Gita and Srimad Bhagavatam. This lifelong immersion in devotional literature informs her current services, which include teaching spiritual philosophy and crafting garlands for the temple Deities. In her role with the Parthasarathi class, Roshni is dedicated to sharing the depth of Vaishnava tradition and helping young girls develop a strong internal connection to the scriptures.

Harilila Das

Sanskrit Class Teacher

Harilila Das is a disciple of H.H. Tamal Krishna Goswami and has served the Houston congregation since 1988. Now retired, he focuses his efforts on linguistic and scriptural education. He teaches Sanskrit to Sunday School students and facilitates several virtual courses on the Bhagavad Gita and Srimad Bhagavatam for all age groups. His classes emphasize the importance of understanding the original language of the Vedic texts.

Renuka

Sanskrit Class Teacher

Renuka joined the ISKCON community in 2010 and currently serves as a staff scientist at the Baylor College of Medicine. She possesses a deep passion for Sanskrit and its role as the foundational language of Vedic culture. In the classroom, she instructs children in the basics of reading and writing the language, focusing on the correct pronunciation of the Bhagavad Gita and traditional bhajans to ensure a high standard of chanting.

Sukha-Sagari Devi Dasi

Shloka Class Teacher

Sukha-Sagari Devi Dasi has practiced Krishna consciousness for over 20 years, with a particular focus on the teachings of Srila Prabhupada. As a trained vocalist, she integrates musicality with scriptural study, helping students master Sanskrit slokas and Vaishnava bhajans. Her teaching philosophy is grounded in Sruti pramana (scriptural evidence), aiming to nurture a deep appreciation for the philosophical essence contained within devotional verses.

Ruciranana Devi Dasi

Sunday School Teacher

Principal Ruciranana Devi Dasi has been an active member of ISKCON for 20 years, contributing to services ranging from deity worship to outreach coordination. She earned her Bhakti Shastri diploma in 2020 and has served as the Sunday School Principal since 2022. Ruciranana is committed to Srila Prabhupada’s vision of early childhood spiritual education, leading a dedicated faculty to provide a robust devotional foundation for the youth of the community.
