HARINAM SANKIRTAN
  • HARINAM SANKIRTAN

Join us in celebrating the sacred tradition of Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, who began the congregational chanting of the holy names more than 500 years ago in India. Since 2020, we have been joyfully sharing this practice every weekend in various locations across the Houston area. Experience the warmth of our community as we chant the holy names, share devotional literature, and offer sanctified cookies.

“Wherever you chant Hare Kṛṣṇa, they may hear or they may not hear, it is auspicious for them. So we are sending our devotees for street saṅkīrtan. It doesn’t matter whether people are eager to hear it or not, but it is auspicious.”

Lecture on SB 2.1.1-2 — New York, April 19, 1973

“In this age, chanting of Hare Krishna Mantra is the prime business of the devotee, and preaching of this Hare Krishna Mantra by outdoor Sankirtan and propagation of literature is our more important business. Side by side, Deity worship is recommended, but when there is a question of accepting one of them, we shall prefer to accept chanting of Hare Krishna Mantra first.”

Letter to Hamsaduta – Hamburg 5 September, 1969
