HH Kesava Bharati Dasa Goswami met Srila Prabhupada in San Francisco in 1972 and was initiated in early 1973. After distributing books and managing the Radha-Damodara book distribution party in different parts of America, he left his country of birth in October of 1977 to assist Tamal Krishna Goswami.
From there, Maharaj went to Bombay to help set up the new ISKCON temple in Juhu, then traveled to various countries, taking up responsibilities in Fiji, France, Italy, Greece, Spain, and the UK. In 1994 he returned to India, where he oversaw the refurbishment of the newly acquired ISKCON Bhaktivedanta Ashram in Govardhana. He has lived there ever since.
In 1998 Gopiparanadhana Prabhu, ISKCON’s senior Sanskritist, asked Kesava Bharati Dasa Goswami to become his English editor. That same year, Sivarama Swami asked him to edit his books. Since then Maharaj has edited the three-volume Sri Brhad-bhagavatamrta, and Sri Krsna-lila-stava and the Tattva-sandarbha. He also edited Na Paraye ’Ham, Krsna-sangati, Suddha-bhakti-cintamani, and the eight volumes of Nava-vraja-mahima for Sivarama Swami. He presently travels and preaches in India, the Orient, Europe, and America, and is editing Vaisesika Prabhu’s book, The Art of Book Distribution.
